The good thing about NYPL is that it carries a lot of books that you wont find at your local bookstore. You can even reserve books online. The NYPL researchers can do the research for you.
NYPL does not cost a cent, unless you return your items late. (25 cents for returning books a day late, and 1 dollar for returning CDs and DVDs late.
